The Englishmen (and in this case, the Irishmen) are never able to film any Jane Austen story well. Maybe it’s because her books are difficult to read even under usual circumstances.

I find that historical dramas simply are not for me and do not interest me. There are only a few exceptions that appeal to me, but "Love & Friendship" will not be one of them. The acting is not bad, although Beckinsale is not my favorite, but the artificiality simply does not excite me, it does not capture my attention.
