Sinopsis(1)

Ibrahim, a young German of Turkish descent, leads a double life, living with his tradition-bound family and spending his days looking for a respectable job. But away from his family's watchful eyes, Ibo (as he's called) is a confident gay man who works in a sex shop and is on the hunt for Mr. Right. Fate intervenes when Ibo meets the sexy, charismatic hunk Ali, a wrestler and petty criminal who claims to be straight. Ibo becomes infatuated with Ali and a flirtatious and trusting friendship develops that, if Ibo is reading the signs correctly, offers the promise of something more. But unexpected events threaten to tear apart the close bond between the two men. Writer-director Tor Iben has crafted an unlikely buddy movie about the power of love and the blurring of boundaries, with a subtle yet powerful undercurrent of racial and cultural acceptance at its core. inglés Where Are You Going, Habibi? may not bring anything new to its genre, but it deals with some interesting topics like the perception of sexual minorities in traditional families and society, the status of Turks in Germany or the issue of crime and punishment. Personally, I was most impressed by the scenes with Ibrahim and his uncle and aunt, while Ib's sister was really annoying. ()
