Hace muchos años, en una isla muy lejana, vivía el Pato del Sol, el cual tenía el poder de proteger a toda la bandada de los aterradores poderes malignos que pudieran venir del exterior. Sus leales guardas supervisaban atentamente el territorio y se aseguraban de que el Sol extendiera su energía sobre su floreciente tierra. Pero, cuando la malvada bruja se enteró de los superpoderes del Pato del Sol se los arrebató sin escrúpulos. Hoy en día, ya nadie cree en estas viejas leyendas. Los patos mandarines residen tranquilamente en paz en su isla y solo el emperador sabe que la leyenda es cierta y que la siguiente generación del Pato del Sol ha sido confirmada. Es por este motivo que todos los patos deberán unirse para enfrentarse a la malvada bruja, que también conoce el gran secreto y está dispuesta a destruir el Sol. (Paycom Multimedia)

I was a bit apprehensive about this film; after all, Russian animated films haven't exactly been known for their high quality so far. But I must say, I was surprised that it's not as bad as I expected. It's not perfect animation, but it suffices for the story's needs, and even though the story is clichéd, it has some good moments or good characters. Slightly above average.

Just because the animation is satisfactory and the movie has a pretty good soundtrack does not necessarily mean you have made a good one. This is especially true when it does not have a very good narrative, and you decide to present the story in a way that there is hardly anything which engages the viewer. Add to that the rather unappealing characters, of which I could only tolerate the main male protagonist and the passionate, romantic policeman, and his dog. No one can be surprised that, in the end, I was not impressed by Quackerz. So, this is a very muddled, poorly presented, and not particularly entertaining movie, even though it may be watchable. 3/10.
