A movie about two female artists navigating their friendship and purpose and ambition is like sirens singing on the rocks for me, and the authenticity and love and weirdness throughout Dim the Fluorescents dooms me for sure. These women are funny and messy, and writer/director Daniel Warth lets their laughter count as much as their tears in an absurd scenario that still remains achingly realistic.
