inglés Well, it may not be a four-star film, Nathan Juran would have to be a much more skilful director, but Haryhausen's (Clash of the Titans) stop-motion animation and his moving puppets – a blue four-armed jellyfish, a cyclops, a two-headed giant eagle, a skeleton warrior and a dragon – are so amazing that I couldn't help it. The interaction of the puppets with the live action is phenomenal, whether it's the fight between the Cyclops and the sailors, or the absolutely fantastic synchronisation of movements between the Skeleton Man and Sinbad during the sabre-rattling. What's also amazing about Harryhausen's puppets is the translation of a whole range of emotions into their faces, especially the Cyclops in the scene where he goes temporarily blind. It’s as if those characters were alive! This film was a major hit in its day, and Harryhausen became such a famous figure that his name sold the film as well as the names of famous actors. ()

inglés Bad acting, great special effects from Harryhausen, boring direction, Herrmann's perfect music, the story somehow moving along, a short runtime... Three and a half stars. Of all the three Sinbad films to which Ray Harryhausen contributed his imagination, this one is nevertheless the second most successful. The Cyclops character is particularly admirable - and not only because (although he is an animated puppet) he "acts" better than all the actors. Cyclops also steals the best scenes of the film for himself, such as the final fight with the awesome dragon or the sailor's roasting, which always amuses me.__P.S. I'd kick the genie in the ass. ()

inglés "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad" tells the story of how Sinbad tries to help Princess Parisa, who has been shrunken to the size of a bottle. It is already clear here what space there was for tricks. But that was far from everything. Since only an egg from a giant bird could help her, another beautiful monster awaited the viewers. And that wasn't the only one. Ray Harryhausen let the monsters fight, making it a true spectacle for the audience. The beautiful animations are stunning. This is nostalgia, this is art. I understand that not every modern viewer will feel the same about these older films, but I can't help it, they just enchant me. "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad" is a beautiful example of what adventure looks like on the big screen. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2013/09/sedma-sindibadova-cesta-1958-80.html ()
