En los años 80, Jens y sus dos hermanos viven bajo el despótico mando de su padre Uffe, un psiquiatra que se hace llamar Dios y que dirige a la familia en bata y ropa interior. Cuando le diagnostican una enfermedad, Uffe decide combatirla escribiendo su libro de memorias, e invitando a sus pacientes a casa para dar y recibir apoyo moral lo que, lógicamente, alterará la paz del hogar. A partir de personajes raros, se desarrollan figuras amigables desde le punto de vista humano, y de la visión ambigua del autor, un grato drama familiar. Es como un pincho, puramente para entretenernos, sin ninguna complejidad de pensamiento.

Too bad about the lukewarm and embarrassing start, which doesn't seem to know which tone to choose. It is otherwise a light version of the Polish film The Last Family, which is ruled by my favorite actor Søren Malling in the role of an unbearable manipulative asshole in a bathrobe. The film sometimes drowns in its comedic tone, but as a drama, it has its touching spots. Genz opted for a very stylized feel, which on the one hand adds a retro charm to Uffe's estate, while on the other hand the film sometimes feels excessively leathery. The gods must be crazy, and I eventually developed a certain weakness for Uffe.
