Sinopsis(1)
Ronit Khruska (Rachel Weisz) regresa a Hendon, su comunidad judía ortodoxa, después de la muerte de su padre rabino. A pesar de la tensión que rodeó la partida repentina de Ronit en el pasado, Dovid Kuperman (Alessandro Nivola), amigo de la infancia y muy cercano al rabino, le invita a quedarse con él y su esposa. Ronit se sorprende al descubrir que ésta es su ex mejor amiga Esti (Rachel McAdams), ahora profesora en una escuela de niñas ortodoxas.
