Ženská na vrcholu

This is one of those films that had to look at least good on paper. The main idea is not bad, and quite a few professionals took part in the shooting, but it is obvious that despite all the efforts, Lenka Kny hasn't done much yet. Certain parallels with Poledňáková's work and the re-casting of Jana Preissová (this time as the grandmother) helped a little, but the whole of it unfortunately drags. (03.07.2022)

Tenía muchas ganas de darle a la película la oportunidad de creer, que, por ejemplo, al menos el dúo familiar Polívka-Polívková en el papel de padre e hija le sacaríamos provecho (al final, lamentablemente, están juntos solo en una escena). Women at the Peak, sin embargo, parece ser una estafa humorística y no entretenida para la audiencia, que fue creada solo por los honorarios del productor y un grupo de patrocinadores, y cuyos creadores no se preocuparon en absoluto por su calidad, o incluso no les importó, pero sus habilidades creativas, cinematográficas y narrativas no fueron suficientes (ambos tristes). Es una comedia romántica invernal terriblemente lenta y poco imaginativa, que casi no es divertida ni romántica en absoluto. En lugar de comedia, solo hay estereotipos de género y conexión con veganos, además de la tensión amorosa entre la protagonista, una vegana de Praga que le da apio a todos y no puede ni encender la estufa, y un alpinista rudo e inquietante, para quien la cerveza y el lomo son suficientes, y solo sucede porque encaja en el guion; no es que aparezca en la película como una consecuencia natural, creíble y no forzada del desarrollo del personaje. Un conglomerado de escenas mal realizado en todos los aspectos, que es doloroso de ver. (07.11.2019)

No es una tragedia completa, como podría parecer por la evaluación, pero no es una película para el cine o para la noche. Es una película en la que puedes quedarte dormido, planchar, lavar, cocinar, tener relaciones sexuales, navegar por internet, en resumen, una película como escenario para otra actividad. Se lograron muy pocas cosas, pero hay demasiadas tonterías y momentos sordos innecesarios. (29.08.2020)

Based on my reviews, it must seem like I don't like Anna Polívková, but that's not the case. I have nothing against her at all, I just hate the movies and series in which she has been appearing lately. This film was just another version of the incredibly clichéd romance plot about a grouchy (insert a male character of your choice - gravedigger, burglar, backwoodsman, Crocodile Dundee, what have you) meets an emancipated woman from a big city, who is fighting a futile battle against natural elements, fauna, flora, etc. So, right from the start, it should be clear to every experienced viewer (that is, one who has seen at least three such films) how the story will develop and how it will end. I reminded myself again of why I don't like child actors, savored the usual "ever-so-subtle" product placement and desperately suffered through the storyline about Helena's parents. It wasn’t a nice experience, and the ending was sugary sweet enough to kill a diabetic. (22.05.2020)

Women at the Peak is one of those comedies that are basically impossible to laugh at. Unfortunately, in recent years, Czechs have been producing a huge number of similar impotent shenanigans. It seems to me like an infertile couple desperate to conceive a child and no matter how hard they try, it’s simply not going to happen. (40%) (18.12.2021)
