Nuestras amiguitas de Minúsculos. El valle de las hormigas perdidas (2013) han vuelto, con más aventuras y diversión. Cuando el invierno se acerca al Valle hay que hacer reservas… Por desgracia, durante una operación de abastecimiento, las cosas se complican y una de las pequeñas mariquitas queda atrapada en un paquete con destino… ¡Al Caribe! No hay más remedio que volver a formar rápidamente equipo entre la valerosa papá mariquita, su vieja compañera de aventuras hormiga y algún que otro nuevo y extraño amigo, para viajar hasta la lejana Isla de Guadalupe, salvar a la pequeña y de paso quizás también a la jungla entera, con todos sus diminutos y extraños habitantes. Compared to the previous film, this one seemed somehow emptier and at the same time unnecessarily complicated with various subplots, but despite the multiple Pixar rip-offs, it was still beautiful with many disarming moments.

It noticeably lacks the directness, playfulness and scale of the first film, as well as the grotesqueness and development of one idea of the bedtime story template. There is hardly half as much as last time, and even the grotesque escapades are somewhat subdued. Compared to the first film and the series, it is more focused on smaller children, but at the same time it is much more edgy, which means that it does not avoid occasional passages when the little ones will freak out. None of this means, however, that it isn't still tacky cute fun, but you have to accept that it stands in the shadow of its predecessors.
