Tom Hanks entusiasmó con su actuación nominada al Oscar (mejor actor en 1988) interpretando a un crío de doce años atrapado en el cuerpo de un hombre de treinta, del director Penny Marshall. En una feria, el joven Josh Baskin pide el deseo de ser mayor. A la mañana siguiente se da cuenta de que su deseo se ha hecho realidad. Con la ayuda de su amigo Billy, Josh encuentra un trabajo en una empresa de juguetes, donde intuye los juguetes preferidos, y comprados, por los pequeños. I can't help it, but Tom Hanks entertained me so much in this that I just have to rate it very highly. But it's not just about how great he was; it's also about how the whole story is crafted, how it manages to connect the world of children and adults, and how it shows that the beauty lies in the children’s world. This is true. We just have to learn to live with the fact that we'll never be children again, no matter how much we may want to.
