Kralj Petar I: U slavu Srbije

Petar Karadjordjevic was exiled from Serbia as a young boy, by the competing dynasty of Obrenovic. He was denied the opportunity to create a lasting bond with the country that gave birth to him, the people whose king he could have been, and the tittle that belongs to him. Under historical circumstances, he returns to Serbia, institutes a parliamentary democracy, and starts to rebuild the country. But Serbia's progress comes to a halt by the offset of WWI, preceded by the Sarajevo assassination. Austro-Hungarian Empire's ruthless desire to punish Serbian people ensues. After the heroic Battle of Cer and the Battle of Kolubara, Serbian government proclaims the retreat as the only option. The Serbian army, decimated and hungry, must pull back across the frozen mountains of Albania, to Corfu, Greece. (Cinemax)
