Mientras se prepara para salir de fin de semana con sus amigos, Kimberly Corman tiene una repentina visión de un terrible accidente de carretera donde presencia la muerte de multitud de personas, incluida ella misma. Todo parece tan real que la chica decide bloquear el acceso a la autopista. Ella y todos a los que ha conseguido detener asisten, impotentes, a la espectacular catástrofe que tiene lugar ante sus ojos. Todos ellos han escapado de la muerte por muy poco. Menos atmósfera, más recargada y con una trama menos clara que el primer Destino final. También es más agitado, más relajado en términos de humor y palomitas de maíz, con una sutil dosis de humor negro. Un gore bastante brutal. Además, contiene la mejor escena de toda la trilogía: ¡el accidente de coche en cadena inicial está brillantemente rodado!

It’s just porridge. If you take away the well-directed and well-thought-out murders, all you're left with is a silly plot. Some of the murders are indeed exhibitionistic (I had to watch the log fly through the police car during the opening set-piece twice in a row, it's not something you see every day), but the fascination with death, even if perfectly staged, is otherwise completely beyond me.

A recycled version of a good idea, but here it doesn’t work very well. The only positive things here are the original and absolutely freaky deaths. Okay, sometimes they are too excessively over-combined, but always really gory. Nothing else about Final Destination 2 is worth mentioning. Only perhaps the completely dumb screenplay, but that’s to be expected, isn’t it?

If in the first part I wrote that the screenwriters kill off their characters with morbid humor, I don't know what to write here because death methods have already reached more or less amusing extremes (see the cables that no one pulls out). However, the creators could at least try to modify the plot instead of transparently copying it. The first anniversary of the flight or the rescue of passengers from a crash in the style of "I see a crash, so I'll step on the gas even more forcefully" doesn't really add to the experience. When clichés begin to sink deeper and all dialogues about "Death catching up with its debts" seem very funny, interest in further parts diminishes. The first one looks much better in the light of its sequel.
