2 Fast 2 Furious (A todo gas 2)

La persecución inicial deleita, a pesar de ser sólo una copia de la vimos en la primera The Fast And The Furious: A todo gas. Los próximos 20 minutos provocan cierta preocupación. El resto de la película es aburrido y te restriega la cabeza contra el asiento delante de ti. Juro por Dios que el peor episodio de Calor tropical tiene mejor guión que esta porquería. El personaje principal es simpático, pero muy débil para ser el burro de carga de una película de acción. Y el otro protagonista es un grosero antipático y vulgar. La imagen del villano es prometedora pero poco desarrollada. La trama es primitiva e incapaz siquiera de jugar con buen gusto con los clichés convencionales. Si no fuera por esas máquinas bellamente pulidas y coloridas, sería una miseria de una estrella. (29.05.2003)

To be honest, I don't see much difference between this film and the much-vaunted first installment. The first one has perhaps a slightly more interesting story and characters, but otherwise it's pretty much the same. The action scenes were entertaining even as they were implausible (and really hectic); the central duo were also entertaining, the tuned up cars left me cold except for the blue Camaro. I watched without much harm and three stars is fair, I think. (26.04.2020)

Paul Walker tries to convince us for the second time that he can act and even drive a car. This time he didn't have the help of Vin Diesel, who still became the mascot of the series just because he returned in the next installment, "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift". However, Walker's partner is an old acquaintance, or rather his old acquaintance. He appears out of nowhere, but apparently has a long history with Walker's character. It's quite a script trick, but it can be managed. Or it could have been managed if the film didn't try so hard to be cool and wanted to shock the viewer with great jokes. Here I am a bit ironic because the lines somehow manage to crash and fall apart. The story is quite similar to what we saw in the first film. It's once again about criminals and the attempt to catch them by driving really fast in expensive cars. The second time it's quite boring and especially uninteresting because the film doesn't bring anything new. It's a shame, but even though it might have seemed that the series was killed off with the second installment, it managed to revive itself with the third one, although it must be said, in a very strange way.
