Desafortunadamente, la trama densa y el muy diligente Adam Driver no son suficientes para salvar la dirección ordinaria y el trabajo poco imaginativo con el guion, que cumple solo con el mínimo dramatúrgico para ser llamado un thriller de supervivencia. La película es relativamente corta e incluso faltan algunas escenas del tráiler, pero aún se siente llena y algunas escenas cómicas acompañadas de música similar a Looney Tunes son realmente sorprendentes. Esta trama hubiera quedado mejor como una adaptación R más cruda y de clase B, tal vez con menos dinosaurios y más escenas nocturnas, lo que podría ocultar la imperfección de los efectos. Si embargo, las ambiciones creativas de mostrar lo más posible lamentablemente se han combinado aquí con la capacidad de contar lo menos posible y de la manera menos interesante, y por lo tanto no estoy seguro de qué y a quién se supone que debe impresionar en el final. Es una pena el nivel de tontería en muchas de las escenas, ya que los escenarios naturales son atmosféricos y los monstruos impresionantes. Además, la idea de ambientar la historia en la Tierra antes de nuestra civilización, en la era de los "dinosaurios", no está mal. Las películas de ciencia ficción de clase B requieren al menos una inteligencia del sentido común, tanto más cuanto más pequeños sean sus presupuestos. En este caso, siendo una producción sólida bajo la dirección de Sam Raimi y con una estrella en el papel principal, la ausencia de la inteligencia es aún más un inconveniente. (23.06.2023)

I'm a big fan of sci-fi, so this film didn't bother me at all. Sure, it's a B-movie through and through and feels like it should premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel or a VOD service rather than in theaters. Still, it will satisfy genre enthusiasts. And if nothing else, Adam Driver's unique approach to acting is sure to keep you entertained. (05.12.2023)

From the first trailer, I was looking forward to a grittier dinosaur affair, but unfortunately the film disappoints on multiple levels. It's a huge mistake that only Adam Driver is stuck on the planet, if there was at least a 15 man crew stuck there we could have got a proper R-rated dinosaur survival, where they wouldn't have skimped on the gore or darker atmosphere, and I would currently be drooling with bliss and screaming with excitement to the heavens, and wouldn't mind at all that it's silly and story-wise flat, but too bad. The dinosaurs looked cool though, and when they are on set they are something to watch. I liked the high tech weapons and the pretty decent scares. But everything in between was pretty mind-numbing and uninteresting, with no pace, no tension and no atmosphere, which is a mystery they couldn't use. 5/10. (16.04.2023)

An advanced civilization embarking on interplanetary journeys, yet they have their tools tossed in a drawer in a workshop? And when things get tough, their representative pulls out a 100 feet of rope from a marshal's bag? Was the rope on board in case they needed to tow another spaceship? Did we adopt our units of time and length from them? And what about that sharp bone smeared with red berry juice—will its moment ever come? What a geyser! Scott Beck and Bryan Woods might have been handed this as a reward for A Quiet Place, but for the audience, it’s more like a punishment. Just like in Haunt, the problem lies with the editing and the continuity of the scenes; the tension is nonexistent, and the idiocy is cranked up to the max. I was expecting Adam Driver to step on a mosquito and alter history, but considering the origins of his character, that wouldn’t have provided the right backdrop of determinism. So, in the end, he only stumbled with his choice of role... well, let’s say he missed the mark. (12.04.2023)
