Fletcher Reede (Jim Carrey) es un joven y extrovertido abogado cuyo secreto para ganar todos los casos es mentir. Haciendo gala de una habilidad portentosa ligada a la verdad para defender a su cliente, Fletcher siempre se las apaña para acabar haciendo todo lo contrario sin que nadie se dé cuenta. Este don de la mentira lo ejerce tanto en el campo profesional como en el personal, razón por la cual su mujer, Audry (Maura Tierney), se ha divorciado de él.Pese a que la relación con ella y su hijo, Max (Justin Cooper), no es del todo mala, la actitud desenfada y despreocupada del protagonista hace que Audry acepte finalmente la proposición de matrimonio de su actual novio. Además de la nueva unión, esto significa que se trasladan a vivir a Boston. A contrived family comedy with a moral lesson that stands and falls with the lead actor. It is watchable, but let's be glad that after this film Jim Carrey finally moved on to serious projects where he fits and "acts" much better.

It's great to see Jim Carrey again in the best shape. Liar Liar is still a perfect comedy with excellent jokes and a fantastic Jim, who truly delivers an Oscar-worthy performance. I laughed out loud, it's a blast. 8/10.

Liar Liar has become a classic Carrey comedy that is easy to return to, and it also features the great Jenn Tilly.

Well, yes, it's a Jim Carrey exhibition first and foremost, but he's so excellent that I'll forgive the film even the little bit of emotional blackmail, moral lecturing and the long foregone ending. For me, it's great fun, but I don't want more of it.

Not only a very enjoyable comedy, but a nice definition of lawyers and their lives. The whole thing hinges on Carrey, who revels in similar roles, and his goofball humour is as irresistible as ever. The ending is very stupid, but fitting for a relaxing film of this kind. 70%

I love Jim Carrey and I enjoy his humor. The idiocy that he was able to whip up in his comedies is simply unique and there is no one else like him. His rubber face is amusing, plus the moral, which is the point of the whole film, is quite well conveyed here. Some of the gags just blow you away.
