Patrick, a strange and lonely resident, lives in a mobile home at the back of an isolated caravan park. After a violent thunderstorm erupts, a mysterious young woman appears at his door, seeking shelter from the weather. The longer the night wears on and the more the young woman discovers about Patrick, the more difficult she finds it to leave. Soon she begins to question Patrick’s intentions, while Patrick begins to question his own grip on reality. (Umbrella Entertainment)

Hasta el último cuarto, se trata de un estudio psicológico minimalista bastante atractivo y hábilmente dirigido sobre dos personajes atraídos por el destino a un lugar aislado y entre los cuales se construye artísticamente una tensión nerviosa durante mucho tiempo. También ayuda el trabajo sólido con la oscuridad y el montaje y los sonidos de la tormenta circundante. Sólo lo estropea el desenlace narrativamente confuso, que intenta en el último momento unir todos los motivos, sorprender con nuevos giros y posiblemente incluso chocar un poco, pero lo hace de forma demasiado precipitada y caótica.

Una psicología de inseguridad bien expresada, cuando una chica que entra en la autocaravana de un extraño con mal tiempo no sabe si su dueño es peligroso o no. Un diálogo de una hora en el que los dos se examinan y esperan las reacciones del otro, superpuestos al crujido de la caravana por los sonoros truenos, el viento y la lluvia. El tipo es raro, opaco y sobre todo paranoico. Lo que, después de ciertos eventos, conduce a una cosa salvaje y alucinógena con un confuso barajado de las cartas reales sobre la mesa para el espectador. Qué pena. [Sitges FF]

A hilarious Australian psychological slow burner with two characters with one cabin and a violent storm, all with great cinematography, great acting, well-written dialogue, great music and a paranoid mystery atmosphere. I'm the last person to praise this kind of movie without jumpscars and gore, but I have to say that the third act won me over enough that I won't hesitate to give it 4 stars. I really like the themes where a stranger knocks at your door and you don’t know who is the good guy and who is the bad guy all the time, and it's really not transparent here. Even though the first hour is just dialogue in a cabin that makes up for the knocking on the door and a nasty storm, it works and kept my attention. It picks up nicely towards the end and kicks off with a decently intense atmospheric paranoid-hallucinogenic inferno, where the sound designer again does a precise job. An Australian gem that made an impression. 7/10.
