Sinopsis(1)

Thomas Vinterberg's It's All About Love takes place in the near future and tells the story of two lovers fighting for their love, and ultimately for their lives, in a world out of balance. It is a classic love story with elements of Hitchcockian suspense.

John (Joaquin Phoenix) and the world famous ice skater Elena (Claire Danes) have a modern marriage and they have lived apart for several years, John in Poland and Elena mostly in New York. Time has made the distance between them grow, and eventually John goes to see Elena in New York to get her signature on their final divorce papers. Upon arriving in New York, John realizes that strange and unexpected things are happening around Elena. People he once knew as friends seem not to be friends after all. The love he thought was dead blossoms once more. And it's up to John to save Elena from her fate, if he can. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)

inglés Claire Danes and Joaquin Phoenix are probably the best thing this strange movie has to offer. Strange because it takes place in the near future but looks no different from our times. I said “looks” on purpose because what might happen later is that you are travelling on the escalators in the subway and you have to step over dead bodies pretending like nothing has happened. The thing is that the movie takes place in some sort of dystopia that explains nothing… and it could maybe explain a thing or two every now and then. Fortunately, Joaquin is a great actor and Claire looks great, so if nothing else, you will be watching two great actors who are stumbling from the pole to the wall and it’s sort of like… nothing. ()

inglés The film had an interesting theme, it had potential, but lacked quality writing. It took me a while to understand the plot. Just when the pace of the story was supposed to pick up, it started stagnating and it stayed that way. The film was quite boring and at times I found myself battling microsleep, which was more dramatic than anything happening on screen. Two stars are more than enough. ()
