En 1962, Calvin Webber (Christopher Walken), un brillante pero paranoico científico, vivía con su esposa Helen (Sissy Spacek) en Los Ángeles. En plena crisis de los misiles de Cuba, un avión sufre un accidente cerca de la casa de los Webber, que, convencidos de que ha estallado una guerra nuclear, se guarecen en un refugio construido por Calvin. 35 años después, su hijo Adam (Brendan Fraser), nacido en esa especie de cápsula temporal, sale a la superficie para comprobar si la Tierra sigue siendo apta para la vida humana. La comedia Buscando a Eva, que no llamó demasiado la atención, me pareció excelentemente interpretada por actores muy bien seleccionados, y sobre todo creo que la temática le da mucha ventaja sobre todas sus compañeras de género.

This movie has a lot of funny situations and great acting. Brendan Fraser in particular pleasantly surprised me. But the biggest win is the original subject matter. Maybe it could have been used a little better and the script could have done without the few tired clichés. But even if it lacks some of that "individuality", it's one big surprise. 3.5 stars.

Brendan Fraser doesn't disappoint again, and from the first second he moves around the set with the irresistible and a little bit too wry smile of a man who, at the age of 35, is released into society for the first time and immediately falls in love with the beautiful and headstrong Alicia Silverstone. There are many funny and unforgettable situations connected with this idea, but it's not just the enjoyable humour that makes me love this romantic comedy so much, it's all so beautifully directed and, more importantly, acted, that each viewing is still something to behold.
