Paradójicamente, el presupuesto más alto solo perjudicó la secuela, porque la incompetencia de Roth como guionista y director se nota aún más en este mejor envase formal. Tampoco tiene sentido comentar sus esfuerzos por sicologizar sobre el tema del asesinato y la culpa. Me gustó mucho más la primera, aunque fue terrible, de clase B, estúpida, pero reconocida como barata... (19.05.2011)

A bit worse than the first Hostel, but with some very good scenes. Overall, it’s a slightly above-par film that shouldn’t disappoint fans of the exploitation subgenre. The ending is quite impressive. (24.12.2007)

Again, absolutely idiotic, but still better than the first part. During the scene of the dramatic march towards the beginning of the torture in the background with Slovak folk music, I had an uncontrollable fit of laughter, just like when I realized that I knew both important torturers from Desperate Housewives and seeing them in such a subordinate role, which they both almost perversely enjoyed, was an experience. However, I can't go higher than the unserious one-star rating. The whole concept of Slovakia and the extremely stupidly pointed story is disgraceful. (04.07.2007)

Eli Roth rodó la misma película como si fuera copia exacta, con pequeñas diferencias: cambió a los protagonistas masculinos por chicas atractivas y reemplazó a Jana Vlasáka por Milan Kňažko. Sorprendentemente, la segunda parte no me pareció tan horrible, insoportable y aburrida como la primera. Solo espero que Eli Roth nunca regrese a la República Checa. (16.06.2009)
