Félix es un arquitecto que queda destrozado emocionalmente cuando su novia Vera no quiere seguir viviendo con él. Una noche, Félix recibe la visita de un desconocido que le pide que le deje hacer una llamada, lo deja entrar y en un momento de descuido el individuo desaparece sin dejar ni rastro. A partir de ese instante, una serie de acontecimientos cada vez más inquietantes le llevarán a la conclusión de que el intruso se ha quedado viviendo en su propia casa y que su vida está siendo amenazada por él. Félix empieza así una perversa relación con el espacio que le rodea que le llevará a descubrir en un final espeluznante y sorprendente que éste tiene una entidad propia y que atrapa mortalmente a aquellos que lo desafían.. A beautifully atmospheric and at times a pretty tense and unclassifiable film. Until about the middle, I didn’t have any complaints whatsoever, I hadn’t felt that tense in a long time, but then the plot goes in a completely different direction, which, despite the irrational behaviour of the protagonist, would have been fine if there was something that would explain it, like a twist. Unfortunately, there is no twist and the film closes with the most banal ending ever, which makes me feel that The Uninvited Guest is not a Lynchesque mystery that you have to put together piece by piece to gradually reveal its meaning, but actually just a film with a weird script lacking any hidden meaning – it’s just weird. Regardless, it’s worth watching, the tension in the first half is guaranteed.
