Un ejercicio de supervivencia simpático, con un presupuesto de unos seis mil euros (¡!). Todo lo que se necesita es una actuación creíble, diálogos que revelen la naturaleza de los personajes y lugares aparentemente mundanos, con riesgo de ser atacados por zombis. Básicamente, se trata «solo» de la camaradería de estos dos tipos. Me gusta cómo Gardner deliberadamente no muestra eventos que en otra película serían en cambio una emocionante atracción. Cómo los mantienen detrás de la puerta. Pero aún así, en su posterior After Midnight llevó este concepto a una posición mucho más sofisticada, con una gran culminación. Esto es solo un divertimento.

Between three and four stars, but for an indie directorial début I’m going higher. During the first two acts, The Battery is probably the most easy-going zombie film I’ve ever seen (the zombies don’t pose much of a threat, they are like props in a nice indie summer comedy), but in the last act the film switches into a more intimate but also darker and effective mode. It’s a very well made indie flick, with perfect performances and atmosphere, and a great soundtrack. We will sure hear more from Jeremy Gardner.
