D'Artagnan ha ingresado en los mosqueteros. Los hugonotes ocupan La Rochelle, y la Reina está enamorada de Buckingham, quien pronto enviará una flota para ayudar a los rebeldes. Richelieu recluta a Rochefort para que secuestre a Constance, mensajera de la Reina y amor de D'Artagnan.
