El cambio climático es ya un hecho y sus calles están en gran parte inundadas por lluvias incesantes. El agente de la policía metropolitana Harley Stone con su nuevo compañero Dick Durkin se verá inmerso en un nuevo caso que le obsesionará. Hay un monstruoso asesino en serie con dientes y garras afiladas que mata a seres humanos, uno de los cuales ha sido el anterior compañero de Stone. A sus víctimas les extrae el corazón para lo que parece ser un ritual satánico, como le ocurre a una mujer rubia que es prácticamente despedazada en los baños de un bar de striptease, sin que Stone pueda evitarlo. A very, very silly film, but incredibly funny and ridiculous at the same time. I’d say that most of the humour is unintentional, but that doesn’t alter the fact that I had a lot of fun. Hauer’s wannabe badass one-liners are something that I’ll remember for a long time. If you are into camp, this is fun guaranteed. 6/10

If Hauer and Duncan didn't try to be so cheesy and instead were really tough, I'd definitely be happier. After all, it's a pretty passable B-movie otherwise.

A luxury B-movie full of one-liners and gallons of blood. The gloomy future of 2008 by which time, as a result of global warming, the Thames has flooded the whole of London is disturbing even now, after Brexit. The city is plagued by a psychotic (or psychopathic?) killer who eats whores’ hearts out. He is being hunted by tough cop, Rutger Hauer, who has gone mad from their last confrontation and his new partner, an Oxford graduate. Aloof, surprisingly subversive twists, intentional over-acting and wonderfully illogical one-liners make Split Second a cult movie that has been unfairly forgotten.
