Já jsem na debuty vždy velmi hodný. V tomto případě jsem ale upřímně rád, že takový snímek v českých podmínkách vznikl, anebo že se o takový žánr alespoň někdo pokusil. Myslím si, že na to máme stejně jako ostatní evropské národy a temný krimi thriller by nám slušel. První třetina byla výborná, bylo to rozehráno skvěle, ale pak se to nějak začalo kazit a rozpadat do více témat, někdy až moc bláznivých a kdyby to nezachránil závěr alespoň uspokojivým vysvětlením, zůstal by ve mně pocit šíleného chaosu, zmatku a rozplizlosti. Jaromír Nosek zase jednou v kladné roli, Klára Miklasová půvabná a pánově Schmitzer, Dobrý a Lichý potěší vždy i v sebemenší či sebevedlejší roli. (17.11.2020)

A primera vista, Daria aparece como un elegante y misterioso thriller de conspiración, pero en realidad, solo es un largometraje bizarro y caótico sin sentido, actuando como si estuviera escrito por un generador aleatorio de tramas y diálogos. La trama consiste en una zona completamente sin sentido de felices coincidencias y está fuertemente marcada por el hecho de que sus creadores son capaces de captar una escena efectivo aquí y allá, por un lado una edición psicodélica del flashback ocasional y por el otro pinta la escena con una canción, pero el nivel de sus habilidades narrativas, guionistas y dramatúrgicas es negativo. Como resultado, la película es increíblemente mala y tonta, a veces tanto que en realidad es divertida de ver (rancho del Steampunk, sexo con demonios, Jiří Schmitzer en el papel del científico loco). Solo un par de ideas tontas y la desnudez ocasional de la hermosa heroína principal, pero desafortunadamente nada positivo. (30.01.2020)

Si hay un juego en el que los jugadores sacan cartas variadas descritas por secciones individuales de la trama, subtramas arcanas y eslóganes fútiles, con el fin de armar una narrativa cinematográfica supuestamente coherente, y luego rompen a reír colectivamente por el chisme totalmente indigno que resultó ser, el guión de Daria se escribió mientras se jugaba a este juego. No, you asshole! I apologize, but that was the mildest possible reaction to what I saw. I don't know if I will see a worse Czech movie this year. I hope not. From the opening dialogue between the main character (?) and his mother, I was pretty sure that I wouldn't enjoy this. And I was not mistaken. The dialogues were terrible, yet at the same time, they became the extremely entertaining element of this masterpiece. Allow me to give two examples of what, among other things, was said in the conversations. "I feel like I died and the whole world stopped caring about me." and "Doctors said that if it was just a millimeter off, it would have been game over for me." Well, yes, sure. The individual characters were developed so perfectly that I couldn't care less about them. Only one character caught my attention more than the others. It was the tough guy Taz, who was tougher than the tough guy Drsoň from Drsoňovice. Compared to Taz, sandpaper would seem like silk and Batman would flee to the shadows out of shame. I don't know if Daniel Miňovský used any psychotropic substances when writing the script, or if he is naturally like that, but this creation of his is truly incomprehensible to me. Pure shit. The director's surname will only be accepted by my brain with an English pronunciation from now on, the acting performances are not worth mentioning, so I can summarize the final impression with one word - disaster. A bizarre Czech thriller that makes no sense, and the screenwriter must be well aware of that; otherwise he wouldn’t have washed his hands of the whole bungled story, closing with that amateur final scene with Miklasová slumbering with her left breast accidentally exposed. The acting performances are weak: Nosek is asking for a punch in the face but, since he’s working with such an awful screenplay, it probably doesn’t matter. Hart’s camerawork is professional and the lighting and the overall production design are exceptionally good for a Czech film. That said, this mess is a waste of money and talented people’s time.
