Como si el abuelo Simpson estuviera contando la historia. En el guion demasiado combinado y engreído de David O. Russell, la trama muy simple que el director y el guionista intentan contar sin éxito en una sola persona desaparece bajo las capas de constantes desvíos y exposiciones innecesarias. Esos un poco más de 130 minutos parecen ser cuatro horas lánguidas. La paleta de colores de cincuenta tonos de marrón y la molesta apariencia de la élite actoral tampoco aportan mucho. Hacía tiempo que no me ha sacado de quicio la pomposidad ciega de una película, respectivamente de su creador, así que está bien que le tocara tan poca asistencia a las salas de cine. (06.01.2023)

It is beautifully shot and acted (Christian Bale never ceases to amaze me, this time with that transformation from fresh recruit to war veteran, and Taylor Swift is very good too, hopefully she'll get more opportunities), and Daniel Pemberton's score gives it the feel of a beautiful dream you have before waking up, not unlike Leone's Once Upon a Time in America. But the story, the story! I hadn't seen something so banal, shallow and uninteresting for a long time and after a promising opening three-quarters of an hour, disappointment slowly began to set in until it finally arrived completely. But the potential was definitely there; the Coen brothers could have certainly squeezed the most out of it. David O. Russell failed to do so. (13.01.2023)
