Guardianes de la Galaxia: especial felices fiestas

A Christmas special from the MCU was only a matter of time! James Gunn's forty-minute one-off impresses with its animated framing, and it's nice that the rather neglected characters of Drax and Mantis are the focus this time. At its core, it's a goofy romp, but it's perfectly paced and pleasantly entertaining – be it the musical numbers, the hunt for Kevin Bacon, or the sequences at the Comic Con the bar. PS: I was a bit puzzled by the appearance of Groot, he seems to be looking more and more like Vin Diesel. (28.11.2022)

The idea of involving Kevin Bacon is great, but otherwise, and surprisingly for James Gunn, good comedy and pop culture references are scarce. That said, compared to the Star Wars Christmas Special from the 1970s that they reference to, this is a masterpiece. And The Pogues in the opening, and Gunn's caustic banter about the actors being fake scum, was fun. (02.12.2022)

I started looking forward to Christmas again when I knew these magical space freaks were coming and bringing Kevin Bacon with them. Yeah, I know, it’s silly, but it’s great. And in the next Guardians of the Galaxy I want many scenes with Rocket and Cosmo together, please. (27.11.2022)

The Pogues over the Marvel logo instead of the theme song? Gunn is awesome! The holiday special is about fixing the spirit of Christmas for Star Lord, who apparently had it spoiled as a child. Drax a Mantis decide to get him a present and Kevin is home alone during the Holidays. A merry Christmas bag full of little winks, good mood, great music and hearts when your friends spin something for fun. P.S: The new, chubby Groot is looking more and more like Vin Diesel.
