Moonfall

Admito que la disfruté y que tenía una sonrisa de asombro en la cara durante todas las locuras descarriladas que seguían sucediendo, pero hay que tomarla como algo totalmente descabellado (especialmente durante los diálogos). Me sorprendió gratamente que John Bradley, el personaje que más me preocupaba tras ver los avances, resultara ser lo mejor de la película. Disfruté de la trama con él, Patrick Wilson y Halle Berry, pero por desgracia Moonfall también va arrastrando una bola pesada en forma de la forzada trama paralela con miembros de su familia y estas partes muertas fueron un escollo para mí. Escenas con personajes terriblemente escritos, nada interesantes, poco simpáticos e incluso horriblemente interpretados (no quiero volver a ver a Charlie Plummer en nada más) convirtieron un estúpido pero divertido placer culpable en una dolorosa ridiculez. No hay ni rastro de nada de lo que hizo que La guerra del mañana del año pasado, una película B del mismo género, fuera tan genial (trabajo inventivo con clichés, emociones sinceras, buena estilización visual). Emmerich desapareció en un agujero negro. Esta no puede ser su película. O tal vez solo se está dando cuenta de que no tiene nada más que decir después de 2012. Un guión de Asylum con un reparto de clase A. Todavía no me puedo creer que haya visto a Patrick Wilson y Halle Berry recitando esos diálogos. (03.02.2022)

This is so heavenly stupid that it's kind of beautiful. This movie is about 60 years late, and that's actually a good thing. I felt like I was watching vintage sci-fi from the 1950s again, only that Roland goes much, much further with the stupidity. In the 1950s, during the Golden Age of science fiction, these pieces were made like Bata's trainers, nothing makes sense to today's viewer, but you still have fun and smile because you can feel the sincere effort to make a good film. Probably like Edward D. Wood Jr. when he was hanging models of flying saucers on string, Roland has the technical side of the craft down pat, but the boys are on the same page in terms of message. Emmerich is a genre on his own. I don’t want to watch it again, but it was a guilty pleasure. (02.04.2022)

The moon has deviated from its orbit and will collide with the Earth in a few weeks. Only two former astronauts and one annoying conspiracy theorist can save the world, but they have no idea what awaits them in space. Roland Emmerich rips himself off and makes another disaster movie, but one that is a shadow of Independence Day or 2012. It's just not very entertaining this time around, which makes how stupid it all is stand out that much more. (03.02.2022)

In terms of price and performance, Roland Emmerich has already destroyed the planet several times in a much better way and with a nicer humanistic furor. This incel-conspiracy vision is fine as long as it plays by the rules of a disaster film, but then my brain was skipping out on this attempt at lobotomized sci-fi. It should have ended up on Netflix, because I haven't seen such ugly green-screens on the big screen in a long time. Being able to put the laundry in the washing machine and look out the window would only have added to the film. I don’t expect much from Emmerich, but certainly something more fun than Moonfall.
