inglés A textbook movie. Action, romance, exoticism (yes, Morgan Freeman :), jokes and adventures. Costner's Robin Hood is one of the best and probably best-known treatments of this outlaw legend. Plus, Alan Rickman shows off one of his best slippery villains here. I simply love this movie. ()

inglés Probably the best adaptation of the Robin Hood legend, where he gains incredible charisma thanks to the excellent Kevin Costner, and Morgan Freeman as a Saracen warrior is also outstanding. Alan Rickman doesn't even need to be mentioned, he delivers one of the best villains on the big screen. The action is truly captivating, especially the breathtaking forest ambush scene. The pleasant music enhances the atmosphere, and everything is well-directed by Kevin Reynolds. The running time is not a problem, the whole film is very dynamic. The collaboration of the two Kevins turned out excellent. Unfortunately, a few years later, they would not repeat their success. ()

inglés If we were able to filter out the nostalgia of the viewers who remember this classic from their childhood, the reviews would be much more sober. Hollywood's Robin Hood is a mishmash that turns into a farce in the action scenes and is not even heavily cast. Essentially, the only thing that pleased me was the performance of Alan Rickman, who always excelled at playing devilish villains and clearly enjoyed it. This Robin did not awaken any enthusiasm in me even back during its premiere, let alone today. Overall impression: 40%. ()

inglés More than the legend of which nothing remains intact in this movie, this is a classic fairytale with the baddest ever tyrant (hats off to Rickman, it was no easy task to act this honorably) and the kindest ever good guy. Good to put your feet up to, immemorable, badly told, in places really funny, almost never ridiculous and with an imperceptible difference between the regular and the extended version. Luckily this is significantly less gung ho than the version from the thirties, but that isn’t enough to make it more than just a good movie. Oh yeah, and ban Christmas! ()

inglés I watched Costner's Robin Hood years later, with gusto, and I went straight to the extended version. Satisfaction? Absolute. It is exactly the kind of (by the standards of the time) big film for the whole family, from which everyone can choose "something". I won't be saying anything new if I praise especially Alan Rickman, whose sheriff is one of the funniest villains in movie history (cries like "And call off Christmas!" say it all). But it would be a shame to forget the sensational performances of Kevin C. and Morgan F., their jokes (the binoculars, "Azeem! It's time to redeem that vow!") and overall likability in general. True, the casting guys could have chosen a slightly prettier actress for Marian, but let's be glad at least that the lady is not a naive, silly ninny like in other versions of the Sherwood legend. Michael Kamen should also be praised for his pleasant music with an addictive theme (Bryan Adams be damned, though) and Kevin Reynolds, who should probably film something again soon. Five stars. ()
